July 19, 1972 - Montgomery County Humane Society was founded by Bobbie Burd, John Gutekunst, and Nancy Meyer with "The purpose or purposes for which the Corporation is organized are: the prevention of cruelty of animals."

1983 - Shelter built at 1016 East Dallas Street in Conroe by City of Conroe to be managed by HSMC. It was the first animal shelter in the county.

November 16, 1993 - An article of Amendment was signed to change the name to Humane Society of Montgomery County

2002 - HSMC recieves a $5,000 grant from Bob Barker's DJ & T Foundation to perform spays and neuters.
- Recieved more than $20,000 in funding as a result of monies from purchases of "animal friendly" liscense plates.
- 8th Annual Fore! The Animals Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by Magnolia's Lake Windcrest Golf Club raised over $25,000.

November 2, 2002 - 8th Annual Mutt Strutt held at Northshore Park

Spring 2003 - 1st Annual Bow Wow Meow Luau raised $22,003

November 1, 2003 - 9th Annual Mutt Strutt held at Northshore Park

November 23, 2003 - HSMC Christmas ornaments offered for sale at Woodforest Banks. Dog and cat ornaments were handpainted by the clients of Bridgewood Farms

2004 - HSMC performed 2,090 spay/neuter procedures

May 15,2004 - 2nd Annual Bow Wow Meow Luau raised $26,896

Summer 2004 - HSMC recieves donation of 5 desktop computers from Anadarko Petroleum

August 10, 2004 - First Annual Furr Balls Bowling fundraiser held at 300 Bowl in Conroe raised $5,648.

October 2004 - HSMC begins working with City of Conroe on possibility of building a new shelter in Conroe, which marked $3M for a new building.

October 30, 2004 - 10th Annual Mutt Strutt held in Northshore Park raised over $17,000.

2005 - Humane education programs presented to 8,800+ students in 25 different schools.

January 2, 2005 - Raised adoption fee to $85.00

April 2005 - Closed Conroe shelter on Dallas Avenue to the public due to rat infestation and other facility repairs.

April 30, 2005 - 3rd Annual Bow Wow Meow Luau raised $37,530 where the HSMC mascot, "Chip" makes his public debut.
- Reopened Conroe Shelter to the public

June 16, 2005 - HSMC participated in Montgomery County Volunteer Fair at the Lone Star Convention Center

August 24, 2005 - Second Annual Furr Balls Bowling Fundraiser was held at the Main Event in Shenandoah and raised $3,000.

October 2005 - First Forever Friends Calendar was printed and distributed, raising more than $12,000.

November 2005 - Mailed holiday fundraising plea letters raising $8,000.

November 5, 2005 - 11th Annual Mutt Strutt held at Montgomery College raised $10,000.

Spring 2006 - HSMC launched newly designed web site.

May 20, 2006 - 4th Annual Bow Wow Meow Luau raised $48,472.91.

June 23, 2006 - HSMC joined Capital One Bank in celebrating Take Your Dog to Work Day with pet supply donation drives at two area branch locations

September 6, 2006 - Third Annual Furr Balls Bowling Fundraiser hosted by The Woodlands Lions Club and the College Park Leos at Main Event and raised more than $2,000.

October 2006 - Reopened veterinary clinic at Conroe Shelter for spay/neuter surgeries, micro chipping and tattooing for identification.
- Launched veterinary assistant internship prgram in partnership with Veterinary Staffing Solutions

October 21, 2006 - HSMC presented its first free community education programs to the public on safety around animals and pet responsibility

March 1, 2007 - Began weekly 5-minute radio spots on BOB-FM raidio to promote HSMC activities and increase community awareness

April 2007 - HSMC recievse $3,660 from tips and proceeds of beverage sales for its first participation in The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival

May 2007 - staff reunite a 12 year old Finnish Spitz dog with his owner after being missing for almost a year

May 5, 2007 - 5th Annual Bow Wow Meow Luau raised $67,976.86

June 2007 - HSMC recieves $20,000 donation from the Emanuel J. Petru Family Foundation.

October 2007 - HSMC receives $1,500 from Woodforest Charitable Foundation

October 27, 2007 - 13th Annual Mutt Strutt held at Town Green Park

May 17, 2008 - 6th Annual Bow Wow Meow Luau raised $61,626.50

May 2, 2009 - 1st Annual Mutts & Martinis raised $83,190.06 - Event featured an appearance by Stump, the 2009 Westminster Kennel Club's Best in Show winner.

September 19 - 20, 2009 - Adopted out last of "adoptable" animals and moved out of the City of Conroe Shelter.
